Hello everyone, it’s Gabriella here. I’m not sure why I decided to open with that, given it’s always been me. I guess the reason is that I want this to feel personal, as I’m about to share a personal message with you. I have made the difficult decision to pause Pasta Sunday indefinitely.
You will have probably noticed over the past number of weeks that I haven’t been as active on Instagram, and you’ll have also likely noticed some delays over on the newsletter too. The truth is between work (my day job) and a lot of things happening in my personal life, I have been operating at over-capacity for some time. Something has to give to support my well-being at the moment, and the newsletter is sadly that something.
When I launched Pasta Sunday in April 2022, I wanted to create a space where I could go into more detail on my recipes and connect with you in a different forum. Somewhere to share my love of still photography, for teaching and to put my thoughts down in the hopes someone might enjoy reading them. I’ve felt absolutely blessed that over this time I have grown this community to what it is now, and even more grateful for those of you who have chosen to support me through a paid subscription. The absolute truth is I have felt disappointed in the quality of what I’m sharing with you (the curation, the photography, the time I have available to put this all together), and I just don’t feel like I’ve been putting out the very best Pasta Sunday that you’ve likely become used to over the past 15 months or so. I’m so sorry to let you all down, and I hope you can understand my decision
So, what does this mean?
If you’re a paid subscriber you will no longer be charged. If you have subscribed annually and would like a refund for the remainder of your subscription that won’t be fulfilled, please email me here and I’ll organise that for you right away.
But what about new recipes?
I still want to use my newsletter as a platform to share updates, new recipes and the like, so while you won’t be receiving Pasta Sunday as a series anymore, you can expect to receive occasional emails from me with recipes, news etc to keep you in the loop. I will continue to share everything over on Instagram, so as a first point of call that is the best place where you can stay up to date.
Taking a pause on Pasta Sunday will give me the opportunity to refocus on getting my website up to date with all of the recipes that I’ve shared over here and on my Instagram, to make it easier for you to find and address some consistent feedback and confusion that I’ve received since moving to Substack to support this series.
I’ve been feeling pretty bummed about this decision, and it’s not one that I’ve taken lightly. I’d love to hear from you with any feedback on your experience so I can learn for the future - if you do have anything you’d like to share. And of course, if you have made one of my recipes please share it with me on Instagram, as seeing others recreate my dishes at home brings me an immense amount of joy!
Thank you, once again for supporting this series. All 30 issues of Pasta Sunday are available here.

Nothing creative should ever be forced so if you aren’t feeling it right now it’s ok to stop & have a break. Sometimes, when we turn our creative work into something that’s not just for us or done just for fun it can become tiresome & feel like a chore. And if you have lots of other stuff happening in your life YOU have to be your priority. So go take care of yourself. We’ll all be here when you’re ready to come back xx
I’ve cooked your recipes for dinner three times in the last week alone! Your pasta instructions have upped my pasta making game more in a short period of time than all the Italian cookbooks I own. Thank you for being so generous with your time to bring great enjoyment to us all. Take care ❤️
